Hi, Back with another pic, she has been re-powered to 24v now. She runs better, full speed is faster than scale but that doesn't really matter, just have to keep the throttle down! ;D

I served aboard one of these boats in Hong Kong 1949 - 1950 when it was part of the Hong Kong Flotilla of the then newly formed Hong Kong Defence Force. The Flotilla consisted of several MFV's and a large number of ML's. One of the MFV's was numbered 1044 and was built by Herd and Mckenzie. My boat was the 1069 but I am not aware of the builder . The Flotilla was in operation for many years but now ex- Crew Members , all ex Royal Navy belong to The Hong Kong Flotilla Association and we have a Reunion every year - sadly our numbers are reducing due to our ages ( nearly 79 in my case). I was just wondering if you can offer me any information regarding these boats - any literature , photos etc. The MFV's in Hong Kong , as with the other craft were used for Anti-smuggler, - illegal immigrant and -pirate patrols around the H.K. islands and the New Territories. I do have photos taken at the time by members showing the MFV's complete with their Bofors mounting fitted after removal of the foremast. Will not bore you any more, but would appreciate a message of sorts. If required my email address is:- vincefch@btopenworld.com
