I am writing an article for the Falkland Islands Journal on 'Gentoo' originally a steam drifter named "Nancy" and said to have been built in the "North East of England." She was refitted with a Kromhout marine engine in 1926 by the Medway Slipway Company and registered in London. After a long service in the Falkland Islands, Gentoo' now lies beside the remains of "Golden Chance" in Stanley harbour. I should like to know about her early life, when and where she was built. Malcolm.
